What I'm Not Skipping This September

What I'm Not Skipping This September - Caire Beauty

A founder's note on bone density, hormone therapy, and the one product I doubled down on this summer.

Every September, I recommit to a few things I know matter — even when I'm busy, even when it would be easier not to.

This year, one of those things came from a recent bone density test. It wasn't the number I was hoping for. And if you've had one of these tests yourself, in your 40s or 50s, you already know the particular quiet of that appointment — the part where a technician doesn't say much, and you spend the drive home doing math about calcium and years and what you did or didn't do in your 30s.

I'm not writing this for sympathy. I'm writing it because I built Caire on the belief that skin isn't separate from the rest of your body — it's connected to everything happening underneath. Bone density is part of that same conversation, and it's one most of us don't have until a test forces it.

So here's what I'm actually doing about it.

The supplement. I added Cal+ with Ipriflavone to my morning routine this fall. Ipriflavone is a synthetic flavonoid that's been studied for its role in supporting bone density alongside calcium — not a replacement for medical care, but a serious addition to it. I did my research, I talked to my doctor before starting, and I'd encourage you to do the same before adding anything new to your own routine.

The conversation I'm having next. I'm meeting with my menopause doctor to talk specifically about hormone replacement therapy and what it could mean for bone health at this stage — because estrogen decline doesn't just affect skin and mood, it affects bone density too, and that connection deserves a real conversation with someone qualified to have it with me.

The exercise. I'm adding more back-strengthening work into my week. Not a dramatic overhaul — just consistent, targeted movement, because bone density responds to load-bearing effort the same way skin responds to consistent care: slowly, and only with actual repetition.

And the mask. This one's smaller, but it's mine to talk about directly. I doubled down on Triple Lift Molecule Mask this summer, specifically because of the sun damage that accumulates in the hottest months — the UV exposure that doesn't show up right away but shows up eventually. A weekly reset isn't glamorous. It's just the thing that actually works if you keep doing it.

None of this is a five-step transformation. It's four ordinary things, done consistently, because that's genuinely the only way any of it works — for skin, for bone, for anything your body is asking you to pay attention to as you get older.

What I do consistently in September is usually what I thank myself for in January. This year, that list just got one supplement, one hard conversation, and a few more sets of rows longer.
